#switch2sendai UNISDR awareness-raising campaign
UNISDR awareness-raising campaign for the first anniversary of the Sendai Framework has gained massive support. This morning, we're on course to reach 19 million people, nearly doubling the record for a UNISDR social media campaign. The #switch2sendai hashtag has been trending on Twitter this week.

If you're unfamiliar with Thunderclap, it amplifies campaign messages via the social media feeds of the individuals and organizations that register support in advance (and it really is as simple as registering support -- there is no other requirement, such as having to carry out an activity).
On the chosen day, Thunderclap releases the prepared campaign message on the feeds of the registered supporters, meaning that their followers and friends can see it and share it, raising the possibility of the message going viral.
There's a second way to help raise awareness online.
You can print out this flyer (See attached file: switch2sendaibanner.jpg) and send us a picture of yourself holding it (as per these: https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/switch2sendai/). We suggest that you write the name of your city on it (or your home country if you wish), to underline our geographical reach.
To keep up the online momentum beyond the anniversary, please use the #switch2sendai hashtag in your Sendai Framework and disaster risk reduction-related social media posts in the future.
